Hello Guys, How are you all. We are back with again our favorite column Talk of Indian Cinema on 4th Weekend of January. Every 4th Weekend is something special we talk about the film industry topic and today again we talk about something special but first of all everyone wish you happy Republic Day. On this national festival I resepct and saltute to all our freedom figher for their contribution in fight with British and getting freedom to us. Last year we talk about National film on republic day but today we talk about very special thing about the recognition festival of indina cinema. Yes today we talk about Filmfare awards. As currently all films felicitation and awards function going on.
Filmfare awards are award which honor and feliciteate to staff of indian film industry. It’s not felicite only actors but also technician who contribute their outstanding performance in indian films.this awards introdueced by filmfare magazine of times group in 1954, the same year as the national films awards.
This awards ceremnoty held by private organization. Uring 90s live ceremony broadcast on television but later on it discontinued on it and it broadcast after completion of one/two weeks with any proper satellite and media partners.
Since 2018 it was broadcast on colors. Until 2023 every year it was held on Mumbai but in 2020 due to covid it was on Guwahati. And this year 2024 it will be on GIFT city , Gujarat.
Previously this award honoring 15 categories but since 2007 it discontinue 2 categories (best performance in comic role, Best performance in negative role) and it felicitate in 13 categories. It added some other spcial categories like lifetime achievement award, RD burmen award for new music talent, Special Performance award. Also since OTT grown up last few years it added OTT awards as well as short films awards.
